Rare and important solid sterling silver abstract candlesticks by American sculptor Hana Geber (1910 - 1990); each is about 9" tall and each weighs almost 2 pounds, base is approximately 3" diameter-- a screw hole in each of the bases suggests that the candlesticks were once mounted on a wooden base; each is inscribed: "Hana Geber, 925;" fine condition.

Hana Geber was of Czechoslovakian heritage. She was born in 1910 and taught sculpture in New York City where she died in 1990.  She is included in the index of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. and her letters, photographs, slides and diaries are part of the Archives of American Art.
